(LAO 0735981) Tri Marine Canning Co. and CIGA by its servicing facility, Broadspire, for Superior National, in liquidation, sought removal of an Order issued by a workers’ compensation administrative law judge (WCJ) on August 5, 2011, setting this matter for a lien trial on September 16, 2011. The Appeals Board granted the removal, rescinded the Order setting the matter for trial, and ordered the matter off calendar pending completion of discovery. This was done to ensure defendant’s due process rights were not violated and to allow for meaningful settlement discussions.
