This case involves the death of Saul Salceda, Jr. on October 1, 2015. His wife, Elizabeth R. Salceda, Guardian Ad Litem and Trustee for Ellen Kate Salceda, a minor, and Noylahna Phutsday Sibouriboun, a minor, filed a claim for workers' compensation benefits. The Workers' Compensation Appeals Board denied the petition for reconsideration, finding that the injury sustained by Saul Salceda did not arise out of or occur in the course of his employment with Direct Motion, Inc. and that he had not abandoned his employment or deviated from his employment duties when he sustained the fatal injury.
