City Of Glendale, Permissibly Self-Insured Michael Karlis WORKERS’ COMPENSATION APPBALS BOARDSTATE OF CALIFORNIAMICHAEL KARLIS, Applicant,vs.CITY OF GLENDALE, permissibly self-insured, Defendants,Case No. ADJ9771839; ADJ9258902; ADJ9922810OPINION AND ORDER GRANTING PETITION FOR RECONSIDERATION AND DECISION AFTER RECONSIDERATION            Defendant seeks reconsideration of the Findings and Award (F&A) issued by the workers’ compensation administrative law judge (WCJ) in case number ADJ9771839 on November 19. 2019, wherein the WCJ fould in pertinent part that applicant sustained injury arising out of and occurring in the course of employment (AOE/COE) to his cervical and lumbar spine, skin, left shoulder, bilateral elbows, left ankle, upper gastrointestinal tract in the form of GERD [gastroesophageal reflux disease), heart/circulatory system in the form of hypertension, and cars in the form of hearing disorder, and that the injury’ caused 88% permanent partial disability.1            Defendant contends that applicant needs to undergo a cardiac MRI to develop the record regarding the cause of his left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). that applicant’s GERD was caused by his NSA1D (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) usage as a result of his March 19. 2000 low back injury, that dermatologist Dr. Raskin’s report is not substantial evidence regarding the impairment caused by applicant’s skin condition, and that since applicant does not have skin cancer a disability rating should be issued using impairment number 08.03.00.00 instead of 08.05.00.00 (skin cancer).            We received a Report and Recommendation on Petition for Reconsideration (Repon) from the WCJ recommending the Petition be denied.
