ADJ 683842 (SBR 0340933)ADJ338831S (SBR0294441)OPINION AND ORDER GRANTING PETITION FOR RECONSIDERATION AND DECISION AFTER RECONSIDERATION Defendant Sompo Japan Insurance Company (Sompo) seeks reconsideration of a workers’ compensation administrative law judge’s (WCJ) Supplemental Findings & Award of January 30, 2017, wherein it was found that, while employed as a machine operator on November 4, 1999 in case ADJ33883151, applicant sustained industrial injury to his neck and back, causing temporary disability from December 8, 1999 to October 30, 1999, and November 26, 2000 through May 23, 2011, permanent disability of 21%, and the need for further medical treatment. The WCJ also found that, at the time of injury, applicant was employed by general employer Remedy Temp, insured by Reliance National Insurance Company, and special employer Western Metal Lathe, insured by Sompo. Reliance National has since gone into liquidation, and its California claims have been taken over by California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA), subject to statutory limitations.
