ADJ6894498ADJ6896838(Riverside District Office)OPINION AND DECISION AFTER RECONSIDERATION            On June 26, 2012, we granted reconsideration in this matter to provide an opportunity to further study the legal and factual issues raised by the petition for reconsideration, and also issued a Notice of Intention to Issue Sanction. Having completed our review, we now issue our Decision After Reconsideration.            Applicant, Mark Fields, filed a petition seeking reconsideration of the Findings and Awards, issued April 3, 2012, in which a workers’ compensation administrative law judge (WCJ) found in separate awards that applicant, while employed as a police officer by the City of Cathedral City, sustained 65% permanent disability as a result of his admitted industrial cumulative trauma injury over the period June 18, 1994 through March 22, 2009,1 and 23% permanent disability as a result of his admitted injury on March 18, 2009. The WCJ found the medical evidence did not support a single unapportioned award.            Applicant contends the WCJ erred in failing to follow the opinion of Dr. Mark Hyman, the Agreed Medical Examiner (AME), who made an apportionment determination that the disability caused by the two injuries could not be rated separately.
