This is our Decision After Reconsideration.            In the Amended Findings and Award of November 3, 2016, the workers’ compensation judge (WCJ) found that applicant, while employed as a deputy sheriff on April 19, 2013, sustained industrial injury to his right wrist, right hip, lumbar spine, chronic pain, headaches, sleep disorder, post-concussion syndrome, and cognitive difficulties, causing permanent disability of 82% after apportionment.            Applicant filed a timely petition for reconsideration of the WCJ’s decision. Applicant contended that the WCJ’s decision does not comply with Labor Code section 5313, and that the medical evidence and the opinion of applicant’s vocational expert, Mr. Enrique Vega, justifies an award of permanent and total disability.            Defendant filed an answer.            The WCJ submitted a Report and Recommendation (“Report”).            Applicant filed a supplemental petition, which has been accepted and considered. (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 8, § 10848.)            Based on our review of the record, and for the reasons set forth below, we conclude that further development of the record is required on the issue of permanent disability. Therefore, we will rescind the WCJ’s decision and return this matter to the trial level for further proceedings and new decision by the , WCJ.BACKGROUND            Applicant was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on April 19, 2013.
